Monsters From Mars - Creepy Creeps

I really like this release of Monsters From Mars. It is composed of two songs named Punchbowl On a Plane and Hedorah No Shukudai, songs which are homage to 60's surf and specific genre compound in Japan called - eleki (it's Japanese word for electric guitar).  The Beatles and The Ventures, among others, inspired Japanese musicians such as Takeshi Terauchi, Yuzo Kayama to make instrumental music, mostly because they refused to sing in Japanese thinking that it doesn't feel right. So if you like J-pop culture you will like this surely.

The Fabulous St. Knicholas Cage - Shit Surf

The Fabulous St. Knicholas Cage hails out from Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they kick ass. Apart from an interesting name they have interesting music also. To be more descriptive their music represents something old presented in a new way, that I find cool. Music of St. Knicholas is twisted and dirty take on old school rockabilly and blues with prodigious touch of surf and psychedelia.  If you don't like it, go home.

The Indian Summer - Moon

This is the first single from the rock duo who call themselves The Indian Summer. Half of this duo is the frontman from the band Stray Dogg who hail from Belgrade, Serbia, and Indian Summer's music differs quite significantly from what we're used to hearing from Stray Dogg; this is a sort of psychedelic, driving guitar music featuring truly rad solos and vocals that are dropped from the bottom of his heart.

Sonic Death - Uncomplete Session

This one fascinates me. Firstly, this splendid album cover grabbed my attention, loaded it up clip and barrel and blasted it in sticky brain pieces all over my wall. Secondly, I love that they sing in Russian, an artist that sings and performs in their native language is able to get across intent, power and energy. Thirdly, their style is interesting without having anything especially "new" about it. It's kind of american lo-fi with distorted guitar and phaser effects on the vocals but they simplified their music, and they have crazy energy and punk attitude.

Angel Haze - Reservation

Rising star of the Detroit underground hip-hop scene Angel has her own smooth flavor. Not typical female hip-hop but dark dub look alike beats, almost aggressive vocals, oozing cool, casual but caring; serious music. She started out as a poet, and on the advice of a friend started rapping. A lot of people on the scene say she could be representing Detroit, but Angel only represents herself. Check out this video: Werkin' Girls.

Bloodstains Across Australia Compilation

This compilation was given to me by a friend, so I took a shot. First there were Bloodstains Across Texas and California. Then everyone got into the act. Now close to 20 volumes later the series seems to have covered almost any place that had a punk scene back in the 70's. Aussies have that special lo-fi touch that no one else has and I like it very much. So I consider this compilation the best.
